San Francisco

We landed safe and sound in San Francisco. At last! I am in America! I have wanted to visit here for years and now I am! Wow!

Only USA Immigration Dept. to deal with! Forms!!!! What the hell do they think I am, a bloody manuscript writer! Next time I better employ a bloody secretary! Turns out I did them all wrong anyway!  Hahahahahahaha! They wanted the address I am staying at in San Fran and I didn't have a clue! I just told them that I was to be met at the airport! Eventually they accepted Robyn's phone number!

Finally got all of the B/S out of the way and I could proceed to where they check the baggage. I figured they wouldn't need my passport for that, so I put it away. When I got to the bench this big Immigration bloke held out his hand. I thought he was welcoming me to America, so I shook it!!! Poor bastard then lost the plot, laughing and carrying on! I thought he was gonna faint!

Eventually, when he got his breath back, he managed to tell me that he needed my passport AGAIN! Oh well! I made a dork of myself but I gave some one a smile and he learnt a new expression or two! Hahahahahahahaha

Robyn was there to meet me. She is really a lovely person. We hugged and then got lost finding her car, which was an experience in itself!

Robyn taught me (basically) the general rules of the road (USA style) in transit to Fremont. She has been continuing to do so ever since, so I now have a BIT of an idea! On arrival at their place, because I couldn't find anything, we repacked my bags. They are MUCH more organised, now! I know what type of gear is in which bag! The fact that I STILL can't find a bloody thing is irrelevant!

Later in the afternoon we went to my motel room which was just around the corner. The black girl who greeted me had no idea what "'Owyagoinmate?" means! She was a little perplexed! When it was explained I was an Aussie (Robyn being my invaluable interpreter), the eyes lit up and the receptionist grinned from ear to ear. "Ahhhhh! Crocodile Dundee!!!!" It seems my service improved even further from that moment!

Back to Robyn and David's house. We talked all afternoon and it is as if Robyn and I have been brother and sister, separated from birth.

David came home and he really is the nicest bloke! I think he is more Aussie than American. What higher compliment can I pay a man?

We had a wonderful evening, then back to the Motel for me! Stay tuned for more adventures!
