It seems common sense not to disobey the "Do Not Overtake Turning Vehicle" sign, but many still do.
It is a bit hard to argue the toss as to who is at fault when you have 20 Tonnes of Tri-axle sitting on your ankles, or when you are chewing on a clearance light lens that is protruding through what WAS the windscreen!
When a semi has to make a right angle turn, the trailer can track in a full lane. It is a damned sight worse if it is a multi-articulated machine such as a B-Double. What most people seems not to know is that when the trailer is misaligned (as it is when making such a turn), that side is totally blind.
If you happen to be in this blind area, the first the truckie may know about it is when there is a very gentle nudge. That nudge will be your entire motor car collapsing around you.
The weight of a laden semi is such that anything smaller than a brick wall will feel like a small block of wood does to you when you run over it.
Please avoid being that "nudge", as it may be a little uncomfortable for you and requires a lot of wasted time and paper work for the truckie!
As most of us are not well educated, simple forms are avoided like the plague, and accident reports instil a feeling of sheer terror in us and thus we would rather not meet you by accident!
